The Eastern hemlocks have been threatened by a voracious adelgid called the Hemlock Woolly Adelgid (aka, HWA). The hemlock tree species are a crucial asset to the health and sustainability of the environment. They are the major role players to keeping the earth held in place where most trees simply can't grow with longevity; and yet the hemlocks thrive there. In addition they are the primary support role in  mountain ravines to keeping the ecology in balance. If that's not enough they help balance and cool the earth! Gotta love our hemlocks :)
The entire family here at CRC Stewardship Ridge are playing an active role in helping the native eastern hemlocks have a vibrant future.
